Can't wait
My husband and I found you on the way home from our Destin, FL trip. We couldn't believe a drive-in movie still existed. I came to your website to look up show times and am completely flabbergasted at some of the comments made. First of all $6 for an adult to enjoy 2 NEW MOVIES is a steal. Secondly management is right, theaters do not make any money off ticket sales alone. Why do you think all major chain theaters charge $6 for popcorn and $4 for a drink? Looking at the Galaxy menu, I can tell you that admission for 2 adults, 2 hamburgers, and 1 soda is equivalant to admission ONLY for 2 adults at a Dallas theater. Bottom line, dispose of your trash and order food from the consession stand. Help keep this theater in business.
See you this weekend!

GROW UP
Some of these comments are so ridiculous. For those of you who think you are ENTITLED to bring outside food into the theatre and then have the nerve to throw your disgusting trash all over the ground, that is SO RUDE!!! You can't walk into a restaraunt with a bag full of McDonald's and an ice chest full of beer and THEN leave your trash behind. If you don't want to respect the rules of The Galaxy, and you decide to sneak your own food in the theater, AT LEAST keep that trash in your vehicle until you get home OR get off your BUTT and throw it in the trash can. If the trash cans are overflowing, take five seconds to flag down a staff-member and let them know. The Galaxy is supposed to be a family environment where people can enjoy the outdoors with the ones they love. I do not want to have to start paying $12.00 for a double feature because they had to pay someone to clean up the lot for 3 hours when everyone could take 3 seconds to do their share. For those of you who feel like STRIP SEARCHES need to be implemented, time to grow up and exercise a little bit of common courtesy. Let's all work together to keep the Galaxy a clean and pleasant place to visit.
THANK YOU. Galaxy Mgmt

A helpful hint for Drive-IN friends
My family of four have been going to the drive in since it opened.
My kids are 12 & 14 and make lots of trips to the snack bar, therefore we have alot of trash by the end of the movies. What I have always done and found this very helpful is to bring a couple of empty grocery bags as well as the one or more we get from the snack bar and as we have trash put it in the bags. Also the handles make it easy to hang on you're lawn chair or even somewere in the back of your pickup or were ever it's easiest for you.
After the movies are over we drop them in one of the trash cans
that are not as full, that way you can make one trip to the trash can. Also all the little trash items are contained and if the can gets knocked over you have a securley tied sac of garbage to pick up
instead of a hundred items to pick up. I did notice the trash cans
near the snack stands and bathrooms were overflowing we were
parked at screen two back row and did'nt see any concern from staff for this. Maybe if those were emptied more often it would also help.
My family and I tried to catch some of the trash that was blowing by our car, but was'nt much help without chasing it down.
I understand that sometimes there are times when theres not enough help and everyone is tied up with another job.I must say It was the first time I've seen the trash not being emptied on a regular basis, and it was only the trash cans in that area. Now, as for people bringing in outside food,(WHY???????), your food is very good and the price is right, and you always seem to have service with a smile. We will always be a customer as long as you are open and we enjoy your food as well. YOUR DRIVE-IN IS AWSOME. Michelle & family

You Won't Have to Search My Car
Hey, I appreciate the candid explanation of the problem. And here's my promise to you:
1) My girlfriend and I won't bring in any food stuff from the outside
2) We'll buy from the concession stand (we want you to make a decent profit and stay in business!!)
3) We won't litter
4) We'll gently and politely encourage others not to litter
5) Before we leave we will even pick up some trash if there's any near our car.
Personally, I think people who litter are disgusting, ill-mannered, thoughtless slobs. Your actions make perfect sense. It's just unfortunate that you have to do that.

Search My Car AND Strip Search Me
If you're really concerned about the litter from "outside food" why don't you put up handy trash cans? Or you could stop being disingenuous and say that the REAL reason is because you want the food revenue. No biggie, just be honest.
RESPONSE FROM MANAGEMENT:
Dear Mr. spam@aol.com,
Since you do not have the decency to leave a valid email address for a personal response I will publish a public response here.
We would have more trash cans available, however we have had to replace 10 to 15 trash cans a WEEK because they are being stolen on busy nights. Now the recycled metal cans are all we have. But that is not the real problem. Many, many nights I have personally picked up boxes, bags, drink cups, soft drink can, BEER CANS, BEER BOTTLES (strictly forbidden) from outside restaurants like dominos, dairy queen, whataburger, taco bell, you name it -- scattered on the ground less than 30 feet from a 1/2 full trash can at 3am. Inconsiderate people simply do not use the trash cans.
Let me explain one more fact (which is also in the FAQ): We do not make any money on box office sales. 90% of the ticket sales we collect go back to the film companies. We stay in business ONLY by concession sales. No concession sales means no drive-in for you. With that being said, the point of the message is NOT to generate more revenue - it is to eliminate the costs of having to pick up OTHER BUSINESS'S TRASH.
Bring your outside food, if you don't care to abide by our business rules. You won't be strip-searched (ridiculous). Just have the common human decency to take the trash that you brought with you - back home with you.
That, sir is being honest. No biggie.
Sincerely, Galaxy Drive-In Management

Search Cars For FOOD Brought In
We love coming to the Drive In. We for one wouldn't mind paying the $20 to bring in our own food, but we understand it helps keep your drive in going, if we purchase food there. I wish others would respect and honor that, so we can continue watching double features at a reasonable price. Wow! DOUBLE FEATURES is unheard of. We love it. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!! Why not post a sign stating you have the right to search cars for outside food and drinks at the window. Back in the day they use to do that, and make them leave their containers right at the gate. Come on people lets help keep our Dive In clean. We have notice the trash cans widely spreaded out and they be filled beyond it's compasity, could you provide more trash cans so we can help keep the drive in clean. Your behavior outside the home stems from your behavior inside your home, could it be??? No Respect or Self Pride.

My girlfriend and I live about an hour away and coming to Galaxy has become a monthly activity for us. We love the drive, movies and the family friendly environment at The Galaxy. This is her first Drive "thru" as she calls it and she loves it as do I.
Thank you for a wonderful venue. No trash, got it. No outside food, got it... No lights, Got it, ahh, have fun, double that for us.
Thanks Galaxy.

What a blast!
We love the drive in and have made it a regular event for our family, especially during the summer. So sad to see and hear about the trash. I would assume it is stuff brought in as well as stuff purchased on-site. The snack bar prices are so fair. You couldn't buy dinner cheaper anywhere else. A hamburger at the drive-in costs less than popcorn at the movie theater. Thanks Galaxy for great family experiences and memories.

Woo-hoo!
Thank you at the Galaxy for continuing a treasured American tradition of family fun & entertainment. We live too far to attend often, but really make a night of it when we can. Keep up the great work!

First time to the Galaxy - LOVED IT!
I decided to take our family to visit the Galaxy last week. I literally had to drag my teenagers to the van (they thought a drive-in theatre sounded "stupid"), but we made it. Now they are asking me when we can go back!!!! They absolutely loved it. One thing: As we entered the snack bar thru the small door near the restroom entrances, we saw no signs indicating that our drink cups were NOT refillable. (They usually are when the soda fountain is placed near the customers, i.e. McDonalds, Wendys.) So we refilled three cups during intermission. But as we left that night, one of the kids ran to the bathroom before our 1.5 hour trek home. When she returned to the van, my daughter said she saw a sign indicating that drink cups are NOT refillable. Sorry about that. When we return, I will reimburse the snack bar manager to cover that mistake. Thanks for bringing back many memories from my childhood, as my father used to take me to the drive-in theatre often. Cheers!

responsibility
We have been visiting the Galaxy since it opened and it is one of our favorite places to go! Unfortunately, not everyone takes responsibility for themsleves- and their trash. Everywhere you go, people have lost the sense that they should be following rules and acting responsibily but it is especially difficult to see people visiting the drive-in and leaving trash on the ground. We all need to take responsibility as role models to teach the next generations what it means to be good citizens and how it affects everyone.

#1 Fan
My family and I really enjoy coming to the Galaxy. It's nice to be able to take your entire family some where that is so down to earth and so much fun. Prices are more than reasonable, so it makes it even easier to take the whole gang along with you. We recommend The Galaxy to everyone. I only wish that we as adults would take more pride and care in helping to keep The Galaxy in tip top shape by picking up after ourselfs, and teaching our children do the same. There are not many drive ins left in this world and it would be an absolute shame ifwe lost The Galaxy due to maintenace problenms that are from the lake of care in helping to keep trash picked up, or taking the speakers that do not belong to us. The food policy is simple. There are not outside foods allowed, why is this so difficult for anyone to understand ? Trust me the prices that The Galaxy charges are far cheaper than anyone could ever imagine, and besides all the proceeds go toa great cause the upkeep of the Galaxy, and toward the salaries of the patrons that work so hard in order to make our experience at The Galaxy a memorable one !

Outside food
It is too bad people are abusing this policy. Everyone should take their own trash home. I do beleive that there are trash cans provided for all of us to put the trash in there. It is amazing to see how lazy people are. If people have the energy to bring outside food, open it and eat then people should have the energy to throw away trash in ist's proper place. Those kind of people ruin it for everyone else and it is very unfair. By the way the Drive is amazing. Thank you Galaxy for bringing back the "Old Times"
Sincerely,

Enforce the no food policy
The no outside food/drink policy needs to be better enforced. The family in front of me took out a cooler and filled it with ice and soft drinks. A few minutes later, security drove by, saw him carrying the cooler, and kept on going. He was not the only one. Another couple kept going back and forth to their trunk for drinks and snacks.

Working Mom
I think your drive in is the greatest, we come about twice a month. We have the best time, rain or shine we have a great time. Love the popcorn and cotton candy.
Thanks so much,
